Web 2.0 Tools that are useful
I think RS feeds would be useful when we are researching a particular topic on a ongoing basis. I use Wikipedia often. Teachers could use podcasts in a blog that focuses on a class. Classrooms could video conference with classes in another state and country by using SKYPE (internet phone

Web 2.0 Awards Site Wet Paint
I selected a hosted wiki site from the Web 2.0 awards. I found a couple of wiki's related to one of my hobbies: boats. One wiki was a safety training course for instructors for kayaks and canoes. The other was about types of boats and really did not have enough information to be useful yet. http://oceanboat.wetpaint.com/page/TYPE+OF+BOATS?t=anon But that is the beauty of wikis: I could add information to the wiki or create one of my own.
Google.docs
I registered for Google.docs and uploaded a file that I created in Word. I then published the file which is available here: http://docs.google.com/Doc?id=dct5rppc_1db4whpgz
I tried to publish to my blog but was unsuccessful. However, pasting the link is a work around. The main question that I have about online productivity tools is how well complex formatting migrates from platform to platform. Simple text will work well but much of educational text involves bulleting or outlining and that kind of thing never translates transparently.

Image Generators
I played around with a few image generators. I read about avatars and the Wikipeadia article described dynamic avatars that would talk for you in video conferencing. I can see how people can spend inordinate amounts of time online playing with kind of thing. Based on the limited exposure that I have, it appears that image generators are more about entertainment than utility or performing a task.
BlogLines and RSS feeds
RSS feeds are very useful and will become more so as more people and sites gain feeds. Most of the suggested sites are tailored more to librarians. I was on one site pertaining to a hobby that had feeds for Craigslist for classifieds for certain items which would be great if you were shopping for something in particular. The Bloglines Search tool helped me out.

BlogLines
I have set up my Bloglines account and added feeds. I am trying to set up my public BlogLines account http://www.bloglines.com/public/delebash@intercom.net but there is a setting wrong. If anyone reads this post, please explain how you get rid of feeds. I envision a huge amount of feeds piling up. Would it be the mark all read button?
